Maker Faire Vancouver a HUGE Success!
Jun 27th
Thousands of “Makers” gathered at the Great Northern Way Campus in Vancouver this weekend for the first Maker Faire in Vancouver. The “Makers” included all sorts, from artists and crafters, to engineers and inventors.
Everyone LOVED the 240EV!
Once again, perfectly clean electrons made their way into the 240′s batteries. All thanks to energy from pure sunshine converted to electricity through EATart’s 3Kw Solar array provided by Day4 Technology of Burnaby, BC.

The Mondo Spider was also tasting some clean unadulterated energy from the sun, and for the highlight of my weekend, I had a rare opportunity to drive (or walk rather) the most unique EV I’ve ever been in. Piloting the “Mondo Spider was a truly amazing experience, with a “super-villain” feel to it, there’s nothing like a spider walk. It’s a mechanical symphony of steel in motion, and a technological marvel.
Also on display was the beginnings of Prosthesis, the next massive project ongoing at EATart. Here’s a video of John Tippet riding top a leg of his creation.
EatART had a multitude of displays and projects on the go at Maker Faire. Daisy, the solar powered tricycle was giving rides. The Grammorail provided a great place to relax in the shade, and ContainR played videos of Makers doing their thing. “Titanoboa” was also on display and promises to be a crowd favorite once complete.
Maker Faire Vancouver was a great event, and with this being the first of it’s kind, it’s only going to get better in the years to come!
Maker Faire is this Weekend, June 25 & 26, at Great Northern Way Campus in Vancouver
Jun 24th
It’s been described as “Burning Man for the pocket protector crowd” and the biggest science fair you’ll see.
A gathering of artists and tinkerers, sharing their knowledge and skills, and showcasing their creations. Over 300 Makers are appearing at the Vancouver Maker Faire, including yours truly!
The 240EV will be proudly on display, alongside many other amazing creations. Come out and see what Vancouver Makers have been creating!

Electric Cars Still Work When Japan’s Fuel Supply Runs Low
May 6th
This illustrates a very good point, no fuel = no driving. But Electric cars can charge from anything, and have served Japan well during the recovery efforts.

Sep 7th
Canadian History has been made by Ricky Gu. A big congratulations to you Ricky, and all the people that helped make it happen.

This is truly great news to see. The world needs more people like Ricky Gu. He’s taking initiative, and testing new battery technology, pushing it’s limits, so the rest of us don’t have to. He crossed Canada, in a car twice his age, one charge at a time.
